Prints, Prints and Prints!

If this trend isn’t the perfect example of fashion being art, we give-up.  Phillip Pilotto, Mary Katrantzou and others have used their design expertise to manipulate and strategically place intricate print combinations to contour and outline the female physique, creating a tromp l’oeil effect.  The digital collages filled with busy patterns and vibrant colors create eye-popping looks that immediately trigger a “must shop now” instinct (you know what we are talking about!).  The only thing safe about this look is it is on high alert this season to charm and entrance.

SHOPPING

This Spring, make your list and check it twice.  Dress, skirt or stilettos, adding a bit of kaleidoscopic charisma to your wardrobe is an absolute must!  Here are some of our favorite pieces:

STYLING

Now, to do your prize patterns justice….  Masterpieces like these should never be let down, ladies!

Such bold, dramatic designs should never be tamed.  In fact, they are inviting you to layer more colour.  For example, in the above outfit, instead of a magenta skirt, you could easily pair one that is orange, Kelly green, etc.  And in the ensemble below, to simply wear a basic black sweater and matching pumps would do these pants a disservice.  The key to not looking cool, not crazy, is using accessories to anchor with neutrals or matching hues.

When it comes to such meticulous motifs, more is more.  Our only exception is to steer clear of mixing prints.  Don’t give these amazing works of art any competition; let them be an outfit’s focal point!

So, what do you think?  Do you dare to dabble in digital patterns?  How will you wear them?
